Logo Work
Sketch Ideas:
Logo #1:
- 3D/Cartoony text - Appeals to younger audiences
- Bright & vibrant colours to stand out
- Shine effect over it to make it look textured (brand new, shiny, clean etc.)
- Logo isn't original - Just text with bright colours
- Some shadows aren't in the right areas - looks unrealistic
- no thought in colour scheme and what it would represent to the branding
Logo #2:
- Simple cartoony design
- Bright, vibrant colours
- 2D cartoon like design (Classic pacman eyes, flat colours)
- recognisable/iconic character (Star cheeks, hat with stitching, bandaged ear)
- Good for social media profile pictures
- Not a full body design of the character
- Character illustration could be 3D to show the studio specifies in 3D/VFX Animation
Logo #3:
- Different fonts used - more original
- colour of the text follows the colour scheme of the character (Orange/Yellow & Purple)
- gradient of "Spline" is too much, it fades from orange to brown
- character feels out of place next to the text
- reusing an already made illustration of the character instead of making another version to add variety
Logo #4:
- "Studios" stands out - bright and vibrant colour gradient, Sans Serif font, easy to read
- Stitching pattern on "studios" to resemble the top hat of my character, also has the same colour as the hat
- Spline keyframes pattern behind the text (type of keyframe tangent used for smooth movements in 3D animations) for animators to recognise - Red is X axis, Blue is Y axis and Green is Z axis
- colour gradient of "Spline" isn't vibrant - it goes from yellow to brown
- Font for Spline doesn't quite fit the theme for the logo
- Another way of incorporating a key feature of my character into the logo - The top hat on top of the "S"
- Top hat also has a gradient to help fit in with the text
- Shadow underneath the hat to help show it's sitting on top of the text and not floating above it
- Subtle shine effect on "Spline" to make it look textured
- Spline keyframes pattern behind the logo
- More simplistic with the text, nothing over the top or any fancy effects on it, just a gradient, stroke outline (on Studios), and a subtle shine (on Spline)
- Gradient opacity on spline could be lowered a little bit so the orange on the bottom isn't too dark
