Copland Task + Analysis

Evaluation:

In this task, we had to work on our skills development (Filming, Lighting, Editing and Sound). We recreated a scene from the film "Copland" and It was better than expected. We had a little time to plan how we are going to film our scenes, where we are going to place lights and we were allowed to adapt the script to fit the location we were filming in (in college). We filmed this task in the Hive, which was a good place to film as it had a café like setting which helped fit the context of the script. The only problem with this was that there were a lot of people in the Hive during filming, which made it difficult to record audio. This also caused some trouble with editing as the people in the hive didn't stay at a certain volume, in Misha's scenes they're quieter than they were in Luca's, mine and Matt's scenes. We also had some problems with Misha's lapel mic audio as it was buggy, however Luca's audio wasn't. This meant we had to use the boom mic audio for one scene, and then Luca's lapel mic audio for the other. Overall, This task was better than our first task we filmed, as we had properly planned everything out for the shots, we got to use lighting so our shots looked a lot better and we got to use some new equipment (lapel mics and lights).
