Branding Analysis (To be Finished)*

Pixar Animation Studios

Pixar's main demographic is children/young teenagers, roughly between the age of 4-12 as suggested by their loveable and recognisable characters and franchises they have created and developed over the years (e.g Toy Story, Cars, Finding Nemo). Their color scheme seems very simplistic as they stick to blue for the background and black for the text. The small amount of colour used for their logo could imply that they don't want to overwhelm children with bright vibrant colours before the film starts because that's not what they want their audience to focus on. However, it has an iconic opening sequence that involves the famous Pixar lamp, also known as 'Luxo Jr.' who hops in and bounces on top of the 'i' in the logo and squishes it, replacing the 'i'. This helps make the audience ready for the film and let's instantly recognise it's a Pixar movie as they use a small yet very recognisable character in the Pixar universe. Their logo uses a simple yet sharp-looking font and has spacing in between each letter to make it easy for the audience to read clearly. Pixar has created some of the best childhood favorite movies that have unique and interesting stories and iconic characters, which aren't only the protagonist(s) of the films (e.g Tow Mater from Cars). Pixar has then expanded their diversity in characters seen in their films and actors who take these roles to bring them to life, starting from The Incredibles (2004) with Frozone played by Samuel L. Jackson, who was a side character to the movie to one of Pixar's latest editions, Soul (2020) which the protagonist of the film is an African American, jazz musician named Joe Gardener, played by Jamie Foxx. This film would be rather impactful to the black community as there aren't many films (especially animated films) that have been created that focuses on a character whose skin is black. This shows that Pixar is inclusive of all races, ethnicities, and cultures in the productions which bring positive feedback from their older audiences.

Warner Bros Studios

Warner Bros' main demographic started off towards older audiences (aged 18+) but as they developed, they began to create content targeted towards younger audiences (4-12 years) as they started to create the Looney Tunes cartoons. Now their demographic is towards all ages as they've been producing a variety of content such as cartoons series like Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes and movies like the Harry Potter Series, the MonsterVerse (Godzilla), and The Dark Knight Trilogy.
